Biography:

Ena Carstens was born in 1971 in Cape Town, South Africa.
She studied fine arts at the University of Stellenbosch from 1990-1994 and Passed with distinction.

She then did a Post Graduate Diploma and a bronze casting apprenticeship at the University of Natal Sculpture Department.

She resides and works in Cape Town, teaching part time at Michaelis School of Art, University of Cape Town and working at her studio in Woodstock.

Commissioned Works:

Islamic Society of London - Sculpture project depicting 11th century Islamic inventions (works currently housed in Dubai) (2003 - 2005)

The Nobel Peace Park sculpture project for The City of Cape Town in which she assisted Claudette Schreuders in the sculpting of the four South African Nobel Peace Award winners (works permantely exhibited at Waterfront, Cape Town) (2005)

Her works are part of the Hollard Corporate Collection as well as a number of private art collectors in America and South Africa.
